The Espresso Martini is a modern classic cocktail that was invented in the late 1980s by a London bartender named Dick Bradsell. According to legend, a supermodel named Kate Moss walked into Bradsell's bar one evening and asked him to make her a drink that would "wake her up and then mess her up".

Bradsell, who was known for his creative and innovative cocktails, began experimenting with different ingredients until he came up with a drink that combined vodka, espresso, and coffee liqueur. The resulting cocktail was rich, creamy, and intensely flavored, with a bold and bitter taste that perfectly balanced the sweetness of the coffee liqueur.

The Espresso Martini quickly became a sensation in London, and soon spread to other cities around the world. Its popularity was helped by its appearance in several high-profile films and TV shows, including "Sex and the City", where it was enjoyed by the character of Carrie Bradshaw.

Today, the Espresso Martini is a beloved cocktail that can be found on cocktail menus in bars and restaurants around the world. It is known for its strong and complex flavor, as well as its ability to give drinkers a jolt of energy and a dose of sophistication all in one delicious drink.

Whether you're sipping one at a chic cocktail bar or mixing one up at home, the Espresso Martini is a modern classic with a rich and colorful history that continues to captivate drinkers everywhere.
